Advancing Quality Results – Year 3, April 2010 – March 2011

The care you receive in hospital is tailored to what is best for you as an individual. However, clinicians across the North West agree a number of key things should happen which, if carried out at the same time and in the same way for every patient, will ensure you get the best possible care.

The table below shows the overall Composite Quality Score (CQS) for each NHS trust providing treatment for heart failure, heart bypass surgery, heart attack, hip and knee replacement surgery and pneumonia during year three of the programme (April 2010 - Mar 2011). Where N/A is shown, it indicates the trust does not provide services for that treatment area.

The CQS is an total score that represents overall quality. It is calculated by combining the results from a set of underlying measures that represent clinical care and patient outcomes. The result is a percentage score, where 100 per cent is the best. Full details of how the scores are calculated can be found in the Methodology section.

You can click on any trust in the table below to see more details about the year three results. Alternatively, select the trust from the Results tab above for details of the trust’s achievements between years one to three.
