Good Better BestAdvancing Quality aims to improve the quality of care patients receive in hospitals across the North West of England by measuring and reporting how well the hospitals are performing. Below is a breakdown of each clinical focus area and the trust’s results for the individual measures.



The Advancing Quality results represent the standards of overall NHS trusts, rather than specific hospital sites.

Furness General Hospital, Queen Victoria Hospital, Royal Lancaster Infirmary and Westmorland General Hospital form University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Trust.

University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay do not participate in the Heart bypass surgery clinical focus area as they are not a specialist cardiac hospital.
