The Advancing Quality team will be presenting the successes of the trusts in the North West at the International Forum on Quality and Safety in Healthcare which is to be held in London.
This is the twentieth Quality and Safety in Healthcare event and it will see over 3000 health care specialists connect to share best practice and learning to improve patient safety and innovation. Advancing Quality will be able to promote the dedication and hard work hospitals engaged with the programme have achieved in delivering patient safety improvement at this international event.
Lesley Kitchen, AQ Programme Director, said: ”This is an amazing opportunity to really demonstrate the successes in the North West in improving the quality of care our patients are receiving. AQ will be able to exhibit the new focus areas and the dedication of the programme in continually pushing the quality agenda.’
Advancing Quality will be presenting the improvement in appropriate care score North West trusts have achieved in the following clinical focus areas; Heart Attack, Heart Bypass Surgery, Heart Failure, Hip and Knee Replacement Surgery, Pneumonia, Stroke, Dementia and First Episode Psychosis.
The new clinical focus areas are; Alcohol Related Liver Disease, Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease, Diabetes, Hip Fracture, Kidney Injury and sepsis.
